Gustavo A. Ballen, PhD.

Welcome to my website! I’m an evolutionary biologist interested in the development and implementation of quantitative methods for studying the interrelationships among living organisms. I use integrative methods in the intersection among neontology, palaeontolgy, statistical inference, phylogenetics, and bioinformatics.

I have received recently a FAPESP postdoctoral fellowship to study reticulate evolution in ray-finned fishes in the Oliveira research group at UNESP Campus Botucatu, Brazil. I was a postdoctoral research assistant in the dos Reis research group, School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences, Queen Mary University of London.
